E. Jakarta Administration Threatened to Shut Down Unruly SPBUs

The government's plan to increase the subsidized fuel (BBM) at the end of this year is responded by many. To anticipate  undesirable things, East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department will monitor and supervise the gas fuel filling station (SPBU), especially who commit fraudulent or violate provisions..

"As an anticipation way, we will do monitoring and supervision to 20 SPBUs in East Jakarta," said Head of East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department, Tuti Kurnia, Sunday (11/9).

Kurnia disclosed, the anticipation is taken to follow up the fuel hoarders who often cause long queue at some SPBUs.  "It aims to prevent fuel hoarders from certain elements," she stated.

He also threatened to revoke the SPBU's operational permit, particularly related to fuel stock. According to the rules, every SPBU is required to provide fuel stock as needed and prohibited to sell subsidized fuel to certain elements in a large quota. 

"We will revoke the SPBU operational permit if they do cheating," she stressed.

Besides her sub-department, she added, such monitoring and supervision task is also the responsibility of the Pertamina and central government.
